The Airush Freewing is a great entry into wing foiling for Airush and Starboard. It’s got the quality construction you’d expect from those brands along with a well researched and tested design. You can tell they did their homework and adapted some of their favorite features from other wings into this one. It comes complete with a nice backpack, rope style bungee leash (our favorite), removable leash swivel, and harness line attachment points . The placement and size of the windows are actually functional when riding. They also allow you to still pack the wing nicely without creasing them. My largest surprise testing this wing is the low end grunt. It has noticeably better grunt than most other similarly sized wings, which makes it ideal for lighter conditions, learning, or expanding the range of your wing. The boston valve is easy and trouble-free with quick deflation. The added strut dump valve on the larger sizes is another nice touch for a quick pack-down or travel.

The hose clamp is used to isolate the air pressure in the central strut and leading edge. In the event of leaking bladder, the clamp ensures that some air remains in the wing.

OPEN THE HOSE CLAMP WHEN INFLATING / DEFLATING:

To open the hose clamp, push on the lever to allow the clamp to open.

CLOSE THE HOSE CLAMP DURING WING SESSION:

To close the hose clamp, squeeze the clamp together while feeling the teeth ratchet until clamp feels tight.
